CT scan stands for Computer Tomography scan. It is also known by the name of CAT (Computerized Axial Tomography). It is a medical imaging technique used to generate images of inner human anatomy. CT scan uses X-Ray waves to generate images of internal organs of human body. Images generated this way are then used to diagnose diseases and other conditions present inside the human body and organs.

CT scan is used to scan inner body parts such as – soft tissues, bones, brain and blood vessels. This imaging technique makes use of X-Ray to scan inner body parts. As part of the scanning process, many X-Ray images are taken (from different angles). The images obtained this way are then studied and observed by qualified Radiologists and/or Doctors. Based on the observations, they make diagnosis.

About the CT Technician Course

Computed Tomography (CT) Technicians use computerized tomography scanners to produce cross-section images of patients’ internal organs and tissues for the diagnosis of medical issues. This job-oriented paramedical training program helps students acquire key CT scanning skills in operating the scanner, recording images and handing over the records to the concerned senior doctors. These professionals work under the guidance of qualified doctors / radiologists carefully following instructions provided by physician or radiologist.”

AIMS

Provide detailed information to diagnose, plan treatment for, and evaluate many conditions in adults and children. Additionally, the detailed images provided by CT scans may eliminate the need for exploratory surgery.

OBJECTIVES

A CT scan can show detailed images of any part of the body, including the bones, muscles, organs and blood vessels. CT scans can also be used for fluid or tissue biopsies, or as part of preparation for surgery or treatment.
